Saturday, February 25, 2006 hell yeah here's our favourite fixtures as always, though a bit late now.funny, this time my top 5 fixtures selection for this week are a bit odd,and it gets really weird towards the end Man U-Wigan-League Cup final.desperate Man U will take their only silverware and overwhelm Wigan as always.a UEFA Cup slot is somehow guaranteed for the Latics and they just need to put a fight and lose 2-0 Lazio-Roma-we're eternally waiting for such a derby in the Eternal City.yeah correct and with Roma winning most of the time and Lazio drawing most of the time,Roma will win 2-1 courtesy of Totti.anyone looking for di Canio doing the Fascist salute will be disappointed,I warn you first Fenerfarce-Besiktas-Besiktas are hot right now,and so they will help Galatasaray this once and win 1-0.that is,if Galatasaray doesn't screw up themselves Benfica-Porto-after beating Liverpool,it's back to normal business.unfortunately though,Porto is stronger than Liverpool away.If you think this is a close fixture,2-1 to Porto will mean Porto are largely guaranteed the championship. If not then 1-1 is ideal but still not enough Club Brugge-Standard-With Anderlecht taiko scoring 2 goals in the last few minutes yesterday,it's time for them to whack the hell out of each other.but since only one can be whacked,it's Club 2-1 Chelsea-Portsmouth-2-0 or something.this is better than Barcelona Birmingham-Sunderland-2-1 to save themselves Charlton-Villa-1-0 or 1-1.Charlton are a bit inconsistent of late Newcastle-Everton-1-0 or 1-1 such that Roeder has an easier job Blackburn-Arsenil-0-0 or 2-1.we need to hound them West Brom-Boro-1-1 or Boro 2-1 on current form Bolton-Fulham-1-0 Liverpool-Man C-Robbie Fowler didn't leave a foul taste in the Blue side,so at least we won't expect him to add to that taste by scoring.rather,Crouch will be doing all the dirty work.1-0 Lyon-Rennes-2-0 should Juninho score again from another freekick Le Mans-St Etienne-1-1 or Le Mans 2-1 Nancy-Sochaux-2-1 Sochaux Nantes-PSG-1-1 or PSG 1-0 Auxerre-Toulouse-1-0 and ok,let's go Bordeaux-Metz-1-0 to kill Lens-Ajaccio-2-1 or something Marseille-Nice-1-1 or a Marseille 1-0 Strasbourg-Troyes-1-1 or 1-0 Monaco-Lille-completely screwed up their season,so 1-0 or a Lille 2-1 may work in most circumstances Bayern-Frankfurt-3-1 or 1-0.surely they're capable of that Mainz-Lautern-1-1 Bremen-Gladbach-2-1 and not from behind Arminia-Dortmund-2-1 Dortmund Cologne-Leverkusen-1-0 Leverkusen Wolfsburg-Hanover-1-1 Schalke-Nuremburg-3-1 Duisburg-Hertha Berlin-2-1 Hamburg-Stuttgart-2-1 or 1-1 in a tight match Atletico-Malaga-2-1 Zaragoza-Barcelona-they need to wear flak jackets this time, because Barca will score 3 at most.2-1 to Barca or 1-0 Zaragoza if you still want giantkillers Betis-Sociedad-2-1 Sociedad or Betis 1-0.going either way Espanyol-Sevilla-2-0 Sevilla Celta-Cadiz-1-0 Mallorca-Real Madrid-to throw Mallorca into the bin,2-1 to Real Athletic-Villareal-1-0 or Villareal 2-1 or 1-1 Valencia-Getafe-2-1 and Quique wouldn't feel anything Alaves-Racing-2-1 for a 'resurgent' Alaves Osasuna-Deportivo-this is tough.I was thinking of Depor 1-0,but I decided to change my mind and put Osasuna 1-1 or 2-1 Parma-Fiorentina-Toni will score this time before they screw up big time.2-1 to Fiorentina Reggina-Livorno-1-0 or 1-1 Inter Milan-Udinese-we sure have something big.2-2 or 1-0 Ascoli-Messina-1-1 or 0-0 Juventus-Lecce-Juventus might win again.and this is confirmed,so 3-1 Palermo-AC Milan-2-1 AC Milan or 1-1 draw as is normal in Mafia-Land Cagliari-Chievo-Chievo 2-1 should be ok Siena-Sampdoria-2-1 Samp Empoli-Treviso-2-0 or 1-0 Coventry-Burnley-1-1 or 1-0 Crewe-Brighton-2-1 Crystal Palace-Norwich-2-1 or 1-1 Derby-Plymouth-2-2 Hull-Wolves-Wolves 1-0 Ipswich-Leicester-2-1 Leicester Leeds-Luton-2-1 Reading-Preston-2-2 or 2-1 Sheffield Utd-QPR-3-1 or 1-0 Southampton-Sheffield Wed-1-0 or 1-1 Stoke-Millwall-2-1 or Millwall 3-0 Watford-Cardiff-1-1 Exclusives. This Week:Austrian double bill and it gets really weird AZ Alkmaar-PSV-I bet no one wants to go against me saying that PSV will romp yet again to the eredivisie.2-1 to PSV will work for this time Young Boys Berne-Grasshoppers-if 1-1 doesn't appeal to you,I bet you should skip this one FC Zurich-Thun-out of the UEFA Cup,now it's more trouble as they will lose 1-0 Grazer-Rapid Vienna-I should say going to Graz isn't a pleasant job,so 1-1 should be decent for both of them to keep in the chase Austria Vienna-Sturm Graz-I make no balls about supporting the purples.should that be so,an average Sturm Graz will fall 2-1 PAOK-Olympiacos-3-0 or 2-1 Olympiacos.man, that's very much a romp nowadays Slavia Prague-Sigma Olomouc-on form now,Slovan would have to wait before they start lifting the championship.3-1 or 2-1 and well,Sparta is doomed Videoton Fehervar-Ferencvaros-Just for kicks I decide to include a bit of Hungarian league matches to joke my way out.I'm an MTK fan by the way,so if anyone would bother going underground on this one,a 1-0 home payout will work.disclaimer:this is an experimental project France-Italy-surely,this would result in a win of at least 3 tries for...the French Scotland-England-England is desperate for a Grand Slam this time round,so they should make their job easier by winning.but it's not so simple to assume,so after a tight match,England needs a kick to win Ireland-Wales-a draw should work.if not,Ireland will win this time.Wales aren't good away nowadays |
