After a massive break due to exhaustion from all World Cup activities, the DT returns, but missed half the Swedish Allsvenskan appetizers. We'll update you on the transfers later but here's what happened this week in the Swedish season

Malmo 3 AIK Stockholm 1-not so good for Stockholm as the 2004 champions gave them a lesson on how much more effort they have to do in order to become one of Sweden's top clubs again
Djurgardens 1 Elfsborg 1-unexpectedly one of the faves got blocked, still at 6th
Halmstads 1 IFK Gothenburg 4-now top of the table the stuff haven't come out yet

Later:Helsingborgs vs Hacken-this is Henrik Larsson's return back to Sweden.Although he won't be able to replicate his Barca form,it looks like Helsingborgs will play for fun and win, which is what football is all about

with the world cup in it's last 4,the unexpected exits of england and brazil are a thing of the past.in fact while brazil can get away with some form after being expected of too much,it looks like the english and the spanish will never win the world cup...because the respective leagues are too good...that's what i think...

imagine the following

Barcelona or Real Madrid being stripped bare of their Spanish internationals and then playing a friendly match with the Spanish national team A.Real Madrid might struggle for a draw, but then with Barcelona, you just need the few people like Ronaldinho,Etoo,Giuly etc and even Carles Puyol stands no chance

Chelsea without Terry,Lampard and etc still can win the England national team by some significant score.Man U without Rooney might struggle abit before their youngsters overpower the overconfident English.Liverpool might be able to win if things go their way.Even Chelsea has more consistency than the English,so the English should learn

looks like it's going to be a tough time predicting Italy-Germany anyhow, and France might not be able to get a resurgent Portugal going...but then Germany has obvious home advantage and France's golden oldies are like their Bordeaux Grand Crus, always vintage.so it's going to be a last hurrah for Zidane until the Finals, where the Germans will shell them around Alsace and Berlin.

in fact the Greek federation are now suspended by FIFA for some sort of excessive governmental influence.Unless they resolve things, and they better be,the national team can't play England and the DT can forget about Olympiacos,AEK and Panathinaikos in any Euro competition.shit didn't we realise that Rivaldo is there...

no surprises in the WC,except that the Koreans fell at the last hurdle...poor things.unlike Japan who didn't quite stand a chance, they utterly went bust against the Swiss.now it's time for the even more scray stuff...full of nail biters and unwanted matchups...such as Spain-France and Portugal-Netherlands.

looks like it's going to be showtime in Europe after the WC when the CHamps League qualifiers start....as always here's the draw

(Northern Irish/Slovenians) vs Steaua--looks like I just need to see the UEFA semifinalists in the third round
Levski Sofia vs (Georgians/Azerbaijanis)--another nobrainer...but then Levski has a higher chance of making it
FC Zurich vs Austria Salzburg--this is a nail biter
Djurgardens vs Ruzemberok--they can't be Artmedia,so looks like the Swedes are next up
Debrecen vs (Luxembourgese/Macedonians)--another eternal 3rd rounder
(Irish/Cypriots) vs Red Star Belgrade--one with quite a chance to make it
Fenerfarce vs (Maltese/Faroese)--want to come to the 3rd round?
Mlada Boleslav vs Valerenga-the Norwegians want to continue Rosenborg's legacy.see what happens in August
(Armenians/Moldavians) vs Spartak--welcome back to the Champs League
(Latvians/Kazakhs) vs Dinamo Kiev--no more Thuns...they'll be back too
(Estonians/Icelanders) vs Legia Warsaw--a lucrative 3rd round beckons, with the tantalising prospect of Champs League ball in Warsaw
Copenhagen vs (Finnish/Welsh)-another one who's going to fall in the 3rd round
(Albanians/Lithuanians) vs Dinamo Zagreb--one more eternal 3rd rounder
Hearts vs (Belarussians/Bosnians)--this is the Romanov effort at winning the Champs League at first try...funny nonetheless

this is the miracle of miracles in world cup 2006

Australia 3 Japan 1-some freak misguided cross from Nakamura from Japan pinned the Aussies down for most of the time, but somehow someone remembered what to do and they scored 3 in 6 minutes...sheer class...Tim Cahill has 2 quick fire goals before Aloisi finishes off with a sweetie...as the commentator said...Japan did not know what had hit them
Czech Republic 3 USA 0-Rosicky and Koller are the best of buddies here, but unfortunately for the US and Dortmund they won't ever see those pals again.so what happened was that the GIs got freaked out by both men.Koller went ouch,so he can't score 2 like his soon-to-be ex buddy Rosicky do
Italy 2 Ghana 0-the Black Stars vs the Blue Stars.unfortunately Ghana didn't look like stars at all.couldn't be helped because whatever Essien does, they are still noobs.disclaimer:no offence intended, just that the Italians has too much experience in their ranks

Yesterday...I forgot to update all these

Portugal 1 Angola 0-Pauleta is not the star of the show, neither it's Luis Figo, even if they collaborated for a goal.somehow Cristiano Ronaldo managed to get Scolari pissed off by his pretty boy show-boating antics...needless to say the pissed Scolari subbed the pissed Ronaldo off and the Angolans got away with little more than a goal conceded and some sort of unexpected pride.the punters who assumed Portugal going on a rampage got hit hard on this one
Mexico 3 Iran 1-it's hard not to admire goalie Sanchez's courage, least of all to play a few days after his dad's funeral.touching that his Iranian counterpart offered his condolences, and his dad would have wished he'd play
Serbia 0 Holland 1-Robben does it...but in effect they got slammed too because the total footballers got one last housekeeping chore to do before they meet Argentina, and that's their team spirit.Drogba lie in wait too,so sometimes your spirit may be the reason which you fell
Argentina 2 Cote d'Ivoire 1-Drogba behaves, and scores, and Saviola goes ballistic.not a bad effort from a noob whatsoever, but I think I miss Nigeria,Cameroon and Senegal more than missing Ghana and Ivory Coast

England 1 Paraguay 0-There are 11 players on the pitch.the 12th player is the fans...and the 13th player is a jinxed character from the opposing team who becomes the scapegoat when they scored an own goal

by the way,it looks like England didn't quite penetrate the Paraguay defence, although the early own goal by Gamarra made matters easier, although they might have to be very cautious next time if they don't want a Kelvin Jack in the Box next time round

Jose Luis Fabiano at 6/10/2006 10:37:00 PM

Germany 4 Costa Rica 2-this is one cracker of a opening match.by 15 minutes it's 1-1,a spectacular shot by Lahm(Stuttgart) and Wanchope's(ex Man C) alleged offside and Klose(Bremen) had a double for his birthday yesterday, but what stole the show was Fring's(ex Bayern) scoring at his old home,a even more powerful rocket that rocked Munich all over

Poland 0 Ecuador 2-Magic cockout and then the Poles look absolutely disappointing, floored by 2 shots from the highlanders

today

England-Paraguay-this is the match all Singaporeans would have been talking about, amid all the news reports that Rooney can make it for the later stages...but for now they would have to learn to cope like Germany.with 2 Bayern dangermen and a Bremen toughie at the frontline,it's gonna be very very tough for the guys who aren't so familiar with South American style defence or German style executioners efficiency.most people would have said England win,but I'd rather have a 1-0 or 1-1 draw...i might be called loco but that's life

Sweden-Trinidad and Tobago-for one thing,Trinidad won't be like Treviso.Sweden's first choice goalie got concussed by a shot from his Rennes team mate,so the Soca Warriors could take advantage of any weak keeper, and if their Swedish efficiency fails them...we might imagine how punters feel.2-1 Sweden given the fact there will be no pushovers in the world cup
P.S:Singaporeans, stand up for Shamsul who will be officiating.Proud to be a Singaporean..and a England fan

Argentina-Cote d'Ivoire-apparently,Argentina isn't quite as strong as made out on paper, but I think Pekerman's emphasis on youth would backfire...he isn't like Klinnsmann who evolves with his team...he's one traditional guy who seems as if he isn't with the younger generation. In fact some guys who play in Moscow should be included ahead of a few others...and with the Elephants being quite unpredictable, especially with Drogba, just look for a 1-1 draw or even a 2-1 win for the guys who score first...i think it'd be Drogba.he won't be diving this time...though so rest assured

yawn, with the Chelski Army business over,it seems like off season for me.nah this time round it's 1 day to the World Cup and it looks like I'm going to die from a deluge of 64 matches, surely not helped by the fact that I've got PPV activated at the 11th hour

this weekend...

Germany-Costa Rica (0000 on Friday)-the only thing working against Germany is the fact that they are so unconfident of themselves,as is the German public.this would have worked for the underdogs if not for the fact that they can't play against Europeans for nuts.0-0 for the Germans would have been workable, just watch out

Poland-Ecuador-I'm fairly familiar with the Poles, and although I don't think they would copy the same formation of 1978,when they got 3rd,I think Magic Zurawski would be firing the Poles through.forget about Ecuador this time, because mountain or not they can't hold on against some of the best stuff from Euro footy.the only weak link is the goalie, who would be adequately replaced by another Hoop(it's obvious which team I was talking about)

Boro 0 Sevilla 4-nailed down...was too drunk to walk...so what's next was that they hit 4 for nuts

this week...was too obviously tired,so this time round it's the end of season bumper, but i'm not giving you the whole match.rather...we're giving you just the juice...with all the EPL gone...there's still some stuff to deal with

Djurgardens-Malmo-1-1 for this last appetizer

Valerenga-Lellestrom-1-0

Bayern-Dortmund-2-1 Bayern to add to the fun

Legia-Wisla-polar at 1-1

Lens-Nantes vs Rennes-Lille vs Bordeaux-Marseille-after Lille's conspiracy with Lyon crapped the champs league battle,I think Lens is drawing and Lille wins to get through.whatever Bordeaux do won't help,so 1-0 to Bordeaux

Milan-Roma vs Reggina-Juventus-2-1 and maybe the scudetto's yours, only if Reggina co-operate.that ain't likely,so they get their last star just in time for a police check

Dynamo Kiev-Shakhtar-when the sun sets, just say Dynamo has come back...2-1 Dynamo

Jose Luis Fabiano at 5/11/2006 10:29:00 AM

run that on the hotline and shoot

Villareal-Arsenil-according to my insider,1-0 to Villareal and then win extra time
Barcelona-AC Milan-chewed up this time.if it's 1-0 away,then 1-0 or 2-0 won't be surprising

Boro-Steaua-not quite ready for a comeback, but then Steaua are quite an unpredictable bunch.2-1 Boro or 1-0 Steaua.looks set for the cup
Sevilla-Schalke-Schalke are in some sort of trouble instead.if 1-1 doesn't work,I'd recommend a Sevilla win...such as 1-0

Jose Luis Fabiano at 4/25/2006 09:42:00 AM

mincemeat for sale.since there's so little matches,we decide to trick you to thinking we got it all ground up

AC Milan-Barcelona-these two are fated to meet each other in anywhere but the finals.that's it,so Ronaldinho,Etoo,Shevchenko and Kaka will score one each and then it's 2-2.or draw.then Milan are in trouble
Villareal-Arsenil-if you can't wait for Arruabarrena to do his away goal tricks, then put 2-1 Arsenil or Villareal.Henry is sure scoring his last of his goals for the goners

Schalke-Sevilla-Juande Ramos is a bit flustered at what's going to happen next.the Germans are quite deadly at home,so you might want Schalke win,or then 1-1 to help himself.by the way they haven't have had the time to get back the rent yet
Steaua-Boro-that's it.if Steaua doesn't follow their 0-0 draw pattern, then trust them to make life extremely difficult for Stevie M.maybe they won't be lucky as they did at Basel.2-1 or 2-0 to Steaua

Gremio-Corinthians-Tevez scores or 2-1.if he did score, then 3-1 to Corinthians
Sao Caetano-Cruzeiro-2-1 Cruzeiro
Sao Paulo-Flamengo-2-1.since Flamengo fans are complaining,I don't think they can pull through
Atletico Paranaense-Fluminense-1-0 for Fluminense.I find it odd that they have Serbs in Fluminense.I almost thought Serbs were buying Brazilians, not the other way round
Goias-Santos-1-0 Santos

Corinthians-Sao Caetano-Sao Caetano may pack some battery in a small team, but I think Corinthians will whack them instead.3-1

Boca Juniors Exclusive
Velez Sarsfield-Boca-23/4
Independiente-Boca-7/5
On the field:trails on goal difference to (who else?) River Plate
Off the field:Boca Juniors is a brand from cradle to grave.this is what you can do with Boca Juniors in your life from a baby

-after you're born, your loving daddy and mummy, both devoted Boca fans, bought you Boca diapers.
-you grow up watching cartoons, comedies and classico(against River Plate,of course) on the TV.
-your best friends in school consist entirely of Boca fans
-your parents give you a Boca handphone.they don't scold you for chalking up hefty bills downloading Boca themed ringtones and wallpaper
-when you grow up,you wear Boca shirts to work, apart from keeping a few Boca jerseys in your wardrobe
-when you propose to your wife who's another diehard Boca fan,you give her a diamond ring, not surprisingly made by Boca
-your wedding motorcade are all Boca taxis

-your cellar inside your house,or your fridge, consists of mostly Boca wines
-at home, your kids use the com,and they boast to their friends their brand is Boca
-when you're old,you decide to buy a coffin with a Boca crest engraved on top to be used for your funeral

as again,I stress that this joke list is not exhaustive

Lyn Oslo-Valerenga-suppose we have no clear idea of a Oslo derby without John Obi,one way to play safe is 1-0 Valerenga

Bolton-Chelsea-Bolton might shackle Chelsea to a 1-1 draw, but with such quality,Chelsea might actually beat them 2-1 after spending much effort and elbow grease
Newcastle-Wigan-1-0 Newcastle or Roeder might be forced to quit.he isn't as lucky to have a chairman like Fernando Martin or a fate like Lopez Caro
Fulham-Charlton-1-0 Charlton
Arsenil-West Brom-1-1...West Brom would be lucky enough for a point
Portsmouth-Boro-2-1 Boro or 1-1

Marseille-Nancy-2-1.next to white hot Rennes they seem too cooled down

Rangers-Aberdeen-1-0 Rangers or they really can't save themselves for nuts
Celtic-Hibs-2-1 Hibs and smooth ride home

Nordic Selections
Kalmar-GAIS Gothenburg-2-1.apparently Kalmar has a lot of Zambians and Brazilians in their squad,so don't be surprised if they don't play like Nordics
IFK Gothenburg-Helsingborg-I'm more geared towards a Gothenburg win,so 2-1.but Helsingborg might be good enough for 1-1 if they score early
Halmstads-Djurgarden-2-1 Djurgarden.what more to start than to defend their title
AIK Stockholm-Orgryte-1-0
Malmo-Hammarby-2-1 Malmo.they obviously look better and more experienced

this is a special report brought to you by the Dugout Times

Match of the Week:AC Milan vs Inter Milan

Having the match brought forward to 6pm is a good thing since they need lots of police to patrol that, and they might even need the Army to help maintain order. This is the 264th Milan Derby ever, and they come to the game with very different fates.Inter are out of the Champs League on away goals and AC Milan has Barca to deal with.Even without Messi,Milan are very likely to rest a few key players for their midweek match, although they are sure to start with Shevchenko if they want any chance to chase Juventus.Adriano, meanwhile is under a confidence crisis, particularly after some irate Inter fans attacked them at the airport.I predict that will be a tight match since Shevchenko is more or less guaranteed to score in this match.Kaka might actually figure in this,if not for the fact that Inter will have their defence stuffed to the rafters

AC Milan
Injured:Jaap Stam
Suspended:
Other Matters:
Birthday Boy(s):

Inter Milan
Injured:Julio Cesar,Ze Maria
Suspended:Julio Cruz
Other Matters:
Birthday Boy(s):Nicolas Burdisso

Supposed lineups

Milan:Dida;Cafu,Maldini,Kaladze,Nesta;Gattuso,Seedorf,Kaka,Serginho;Shevchenko,Pippo Inzaghi
(Subs:Kalac;Costacurta,Simic,Pirlo,Ambrosini,Rui Costa,Gilardino)

Inter:Toldo;Materazzi,Samuel,Wome,Zanetti;Cambiasso,Solari,Stankovic,Kily Gonzalez,Veron;Adriano
(Subs:Julio Cesar;Ivan Cordoba,Burdisso,Mihajlovic,David Pizzaro,Martins,Recoba)

Prediction:1-1 or 2-1 AC Milan or 1-0 Inter.D-A or H-H or X-D.Milan has -1/2 handicap,so by all means bet Inter on 1/2 goals

Jose Luis Fabiano at 4/13/2006 10:29:00 AM

somehow we decided to make things tough for you all and summoned all of you readers back from a break

PSV 1 Feyenoord 1-no dispute
Rapid Bucharest 3 Dinamo Bucharest 0-yay!now Steaua is top
Ferencvaros 3 Honved 1-buried deep in the ground
Portsmouth 1 Arsenil 1-what a hit.just hope that I hit with Henry leaving for Barcelona

Young Boys 1 Schaffhausen 2-correct score but wrong team as they shot themselves in the foot
Grasshoppers 3 Thun 1-just whack it
Aarau 1 Basel 5-if you think Boro is bad enough, just use a bulldozer to crush your way through

Jose Luis Fabiano at 4/13/2006 08:49:00 AM

PSV-Feyenoord-nearly the undisputed champions.just set that in stone with a 2-1 win
Ferencvaros-FC Honved-we'rent lying about the potency of such a match,so 1-1
Rapid Bucharest-Dinamo Bucharest-2-1 Rapid.Better than never

Young Boys-Schaffhausen-2-1
Grasshoppers-Thun-1-0 or 1-1
Xamax-FC Zurich-1-0 FCZ
Aarau-Basel-2-1 if they can return to form
St Gallen-Yverdon-2-1 or 0-0

it's hard noit to salute Boro's amazing comeback

Boro 4 Basel 1-Eduardo looks as if he had Basel tidily slated for Steaua, but then it was a magnificent win this time round as Boro surpassed all expectations to get through, even to their unbelievable fans.a super late goal consigns Basel to the bin
Zenit SP 1 Sevilla 1-Juande Ramos didn't even need to do anything except look at new Russian prospects as they have their 4-1 cushion to depend on
Steaua 0 Rapid 0 (Steaua on away goals)-Long Live Steaua and we don't care if they needed any away goals or not, because Boro's up next.I think that was to miss another point, because whatever score i said was going to hit eventually anyway
Schalke 1 Levski 1-nearly did get away with it,but then it's the end of the road for the Bulgarians, after so long.a pat on the back for the miraculous Bulgarians, bane of the French

here's a little tribute to Steaua 20 years from now and then

okok...we have more powerpacked stuff coming up

Best of this week
Man U-Arsenil-okok,this doesn't have the same significance as it used to be in deciding the title, but then Man U does have a unrealisitc chance of getting their title with Arsenil Wenger would be contemplating life without Pires,Henry and Champions League in the new season.Back Man U to win 2-1 or 1-0

Dinamo Bucharest-Steaua-this is the eastern version of the above match. In fact I detest Dinamo just as much.just to shut them up,2-1 to Steaua ought to teach them a lesson and help them reclaim the throne

Bremen-Bayern-bring on the big guns before we romp.for real,so 1-0 to Bayern and deal's done

Sporting Lisbon-Porto-Porto needs to run away quick before anyone of them starts a high speed chase.1-1 or 1-0 to Porto.alternatively 2-1 to Sporting and then they have one last shot at the Superliga

Sparta-Slavia-In Prague neither were going to be guaranteed of anything nowadays,so if Lustrinelli scores in time,go for 1-1 or 1-0

Hapoel Tel Aviv-Maccabi Tel Aviv-outside the West bank we have Palestines bombing Jews.inside the Bloomfield,it's civil war.in fact there's no escape hatch here,so we'll make a bet.1-1 to all and all is peaceful for now

Spartak Moscow-Lokomotiv Moscow-another Moscow derby?yeah we weren't fooling you.2-1 to Spartak who should have won by then or then 1-1 or 2-2 for such tight matches

Champions League is all but over now that there are 4 left.

Villareal 1 Inter Milan 0(Villareal on away goals)-there goes the nerazzurri as the away goal came back to haunt them
AC Milan 3 Lyon 1-correct about Shevchenko, correct about the score, just about anything is correct...no wait it's the equaliser that isn't,but what a scare
Juventus 0 Arsenil 0-shit Juventus trips again
Barcelona 2 Benfica 0-no messi?it isn't anything messy anyway because Etoo and Ronaldinho had them cleanly despatched long before the final whistle

Jose Luis Fabiano at 4/06/2006 07:52:00 AM

bring on the action all over again

Villareal-Inter Milan-that's quite a crap fixture,so Villareal has the chance to make it 1-1
AC Milan-Lyon-Shevchenko will score, and then continue the story from here.ending would be 3-1 in favour of the Milanisti
Juventus-Arsenil-3-0 would be needed, but by God's grace it's be something big time
Barcelona-Benfica-since there's no way back from here,Barcelona will mill them down at 2-1 or something.just don't be surprised if they decide to carve up

Schalke-Levski Sofia-with all the odds against the Bulgarians,it's burger time so 2-1 to Schalke
Steaua-Rapid-0-0 this time round is acceptable, but then that's to miss the point,a Steaua 2-1 win or 1-0
Zenit SP-Sevilla-by then it'd be all over,or apparently so,if that's the case,brace for 4 goals.whatever combo decide yourself.or then 2-1
Boro-Basel-another similar tactic is to draw away.1-1 would be enough

we're very early now,but just before our super-classico in Spain, here's news from Moscow

Spartak 1 CSKA 1-all square this time round, rounded off in 5 minutes.that means Spartak would have been suitably worried about getting one draw too many.actually the only thing I was correct was that they drew at half time(0-0) and CSKA's lead all but lasted 5 minutes before Titov makes it equal with Love

and 7h before the classico, here's what we've got

Barca:The problem is how to cope without Messi given that Ronaldinho and Etoo are confirmed starters(bar something catastrophic).another thing is about Benfica.Rijkaard just can't afford to overwork or underwork the two.Larsson might actually work from the bench and decide the outcome in the second half given he has seen enough of things similar to Celtic-Rangers, or something of that sort. Injury concerns this time include Rafael Marquez, and Edmilson, both which cause Rijkaard some headache in the defence department.captain Carles Puyol will be back after suspensions, and that might be a better thing as Barca had been doing 0-0 draws without him recently(against Benfica and Malaga, both of which should had been wins). The crowd factor would mean Barca has a slight edge over the Galaticos, although the police presence would be good enough to prevent any hooliganism

Real Madrid:actually they needed some birthday bash for mr Sergio Ramos, and what else to hold their party than at Nou Camp?Real has no real injury concerns at least.Woodgate(again) is out injured, and we don't think he will play any part next time if Senor Martin decides to sell him for good. Luckily Pablo Garcia will be back, but I think he will still be benched. But the main source for contention is still Ronaldo. I think he will be left on the bench as a finisher because Real Madrid can never afford to have him miss goal chances early and let Barca score. Depor were plain unlucky last game when they crumbled after the own goal, but Ronaldo would be well taken care of by the Barca defence whatever the day, so starting with him is a bad idea

From what we know this is the predicted starting 11

Barca:Valdes; Silvinho, Presas Oleguer, van Bronckhorst, Puyol; Deco, Gabri, Giuly/Xavi, van Bommel; Ronaldinho, Etoo (this is the best attacking formation thinkable, but I think youth will be a factor as they need better players against deadlier Benfica.there's a slightly higher chance Giuly will be used although Xavi might actually be starting)

Real Madrid:Casillas; Salgado,Roberto Carlos, Cicinho, Sergio Ramos, Raul Bravo; Becks, Zidane, Guti, Robinho; Raul (something defensive as Barca would be using Ronaldinho to force their way through. note the relegation of Ronaldo to the bench. Raul would be a confirmed starter this time round)

you have 4 minutes to finish placing your bets, after that it's good luck

we're gonna kill you all during april fools.this time round we've massive business east of europe

(El Classico)
Barcelona-Real Madrid-THIS IS THE MATCH OF THE YEAR.well we can rant about all the history here, but then it seems like nobody's thinking about it,Barca thinking about Benfica and Real thinking about new deals...the fact is if Barce can draw 0-0 for all they want,Real Madrid will turn on their heat and win 2-1 for pride's sake

(Seville derby)
Betis-Sevilla-this is hot blooded and Betis are in more trouble than expected.go for Juande Ramos and his men giving Betis a headstart to the Segunda by winning 2-1

(Belgrade derby)
Partizan-Red Star Belgrade-well...I'm most likely needing a bit of tranquiliser,so whatever Slobo supports,I'll go against him.I predict he's a Crvena Zvezda fan(aka Red Star),so I'll go for Partizan 2-1 and hope you get out of Belgrade alive

(Budapest derby no 1)
Ferencvaros-MTK Hungaria-actually I was thinking whether this was quite worth it,but we shall go on with it anyway.since they weren't what they used to be,1-1 would work

(super Sofia derby)
CSKA Sofia-Levski Sofia-actually we don't have this easy.If CSKA aren't any sort of pushovers,1-1 would work most of the time...though this is insufficient for Levski

(the biggest Moscow derby ever)
Spartak Moscow-CSKA Moscow-should a championship battle start so early there's gonna be something wrong.yeah, maybe,CSKA 1-0 or Spartak 2-1.what's safe though is that there's going to be a draw at half time

(Israeli powerpack)
Maccabi Tel Aviv-Maccabi Haifa-we can't wait for Beitar to join the fray,so let's go for Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1 again.they just need something else to complete the formation

Thursday, March 30, 2006

actually that's a better day out

Inter Milan 2 Villareal 1-finally Adriano scores, when least expected.Martins this time round saves the day,so cut all the racism
Lyon 0 AC Milan 0-they managed to shut Shevchenko up,but then that also means passing up the chance to get into the semis...if Juninho is still out

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/30/2006 10:47:00 AM

Wednesday, March 29, 2006

ok hot shit

Arsenil 2 Juventus 0-whatever the case without Vieira,Camoranesi and Zebina I don't know if they can do a 4-1
Benfica 0 Barcelona 0-backs to the wall and besieged, they ended up being dragged back to Barcelona to get beaten up

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/29/2006 05:39:00 PM

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

we'll bust your wallet off this Champs League week

Arsenil-Juventus-we won't be surprised if Vieira comes back and whacks Arsenil.so go ahead with a Juventus 2-1 or 1-0.Henry is gone by 2006 WC
Benfica-Barcelona-after Man U and Liverpool,it's Barca and the Blaugrana army.actually we would have loved to see Messi play, but Larsson is just as good with Ronaldinho and Etoo.2-0 Barca does the trick
Inter Milan-Villareal-game over for Villareal.1-0 and I think Cruz will score that
Lyon-AC Milan-Milan's tactic is to lose small away and win big at home.but without Juninho, they might as well just go for a 1-1 draw and then finish them off at home(Bayern),provided Lyon doesn't score big(like Bremen or PSV again) first...least of all 7-2

Sevilla-Zenit SP-Seville sides are traditionally tough at home, but with Russians being extremely hard to chew away,I might think 1-1 is key to a win for Zenit.but don't discount the fact that Zenit might actually spring out a 1-0 win out of the blue and proceed to draw,or the other way round
Levski Sofia-Schalke-if being the bane of the French isn't enough, now it's the German's turn to take flight.1-0 to Levski and any score that isn't too catastrophic in the second leg would work...
Rapid-Steaua-Rapid is super on form but I'm bred a Steaua fan.I'll pray for 1-0 Steaua, bearing in mind nothing is guaranteed if they are so familiar
Basel-Boro-of late both have been on form, but I think Basel will freeze the Teessiders out with 1-1 or 1-0...brrr

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/28/2006 04:00:00 PM

Thursday, March 23, 2006

this time round we have another Juventus running away with the title,so let's keep our fingers crossed for our Romanian double bill

Juventus-Roma-Juve 2-1 would be the best way to kickstart your orders for champagne
Club Brugge-Anderlecht-Club screw and we sure need to crap our way out.Bring them on and draw 2-2 or have Club Brugge 1-0
Real Madrid-Deportivo-0-0 again and I don't think Lopez Caro would be honorably discharged after this season.1-0 seems more suitable, but judging from the fact that Depor can beat Real Madrid once in a while,2-1 is a big gamble
Steaua Bucharest-Politehnica Timisoara-you don't underestimate any team coached by Gheorghe Hagi.that said,I don't think Steaua will draw again,so I predict they will win while Dinamo flop.2-1 the final score,or 0-0 if they still have a phobia of their rented apartment
Rapid Bucharest-National Bucharest-National are a decent side, but with Rapid being that deadly,1-0 to Rapid
Liverpool-Everton-when 2 high speed trains crash, both gets derailed.1-1 drtaw or 2-1 Liverpool after much effort

Chelsea-Man C-2-1 should be okay.but I don't think they will ever get red carded for the rest of the season
Wigan-West Ham-2-1 Wigan could actually work when they most need it
Portsmouth-Arsenil-1-0
Sunderland-Blackburn-1-0 Blackburn.burn baby burn

Bielefeld-Nuremburg-1-1 or 1-0

Malaga-Barcelona-3-0 Barca.Malaga can say all their last words

Getafe-Sociedad-1-0

Espanyol-Alaves-2-1
Cadiz-Atletico-Atletico 3-1
Sevilla-Valencia-1-0.You would find this unbelievable, but then Sevilla is tough at home

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/23/2006 10:57:00 AM

Saturday, March 18, 2006

we actually have 2 nuggets live from...Moscow and Liverpool

Dinamo Moscow 1 Shinnik Yaroslavl 1-not an impressive start, neither a floppy end.at least one of their prized Portuguese scored, good enough for the rest but CSKA,Loko and Spartak

Everton 4 Villa 1-a resounding win.Beattie didn't score, but cool enough for 3-0 and so they're forgiven if they want a late run

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/18/2006 10:55:00 PM

so that's the second part of our issue, with the UEFA Cup draw and the Championship fixtures as always...and just for more surprises,Scottish league and regular Eircom Irish league(South of the Border)!

There goes the French and the Italians.and actually it looks as if an East European semi final is going to happen

Schalke 3 Palermo 0-to put it that way, just blast your way through 10 men
Strasbourg 2 Basel 2-Strasbourg aren't going to win it this time round, and being that depleted, they just put on a fight and went straight down
Zenit SP 1 Marseille 1-no need for a draw actually, should have finished them off earlier but are still safe whatever the case
Betis 0 Steaua 3-what distinguished Steaua is its power away from home.man,Rapid Bucharest won't be sleeping peacefully.Betis are in greater trouble than expected,so don't be surprised if they escape relegation at the last match of the season
Levski Sofia 2 Udinese 1-I hit the Bulgarians again.this time round they are thinking of getting one for Bulgaria

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/17/2006 04:19:00 PM

Thursday, March 16, 2006

bring on the Russians...later.actually I wanted to see how Dinamo looks crap this year.If not then I'd opt for Campeonato Brasiliero or Copa Libertadores, but I can forget it,because it'd be a logistic nightmare

PSG-Auxerre-I don't think any one of them would match up with each other,so lets go with a 1-1 draw.forget about anyone catching up with Lyon
Lille-Marseille-we can't imagine anyone of them winning outright.if that's the case so opt for a 1-0 or 1-1
Bayern-Schalke-on no type of form whatsoever, just bet a 1-1 draw or 1-0 win for any lucky one.decide yourself
Inter Milan-Lazio-Adriano would score this time.Frankly speaking only Juventus and AC Milan can neuter Inter
AZ Alkmaar-Feyenoord-should we think that doesn't end in a draw,1-0 to Alkmaar would be a bit better.orr if Feyenoord scores first, then bet them on half time to win by holding on
Hearts-Rangers-Rangers are in some form of trouble and has more to lose than Hearts who know they can't get rid of Celtic.2-1 or 1-1
National Bucharest-Steaua-I know Steaua would be tired after Betis, but then there might be a riot if they don't win actually.so the next thing I'd go for is 1-0 Steaua or 1-1

Birmingham-Spurs-2-1 Spurs should work given the advantage
Everton-Villa-since Everton are better with their chances,it goes to say they will run out 1-0 winners as well
Man C-Wigan-this time round Samaras is going to score again.that might not mean trouble for Wigan so 1-1 would be fine
West Brom-Portsmouth-2-1 West Brom is better
Arsenil-Charlton-1-1
Bolton-Sunderland-2-1 Bolton again.they work
West Ham-Man U-blast it and put 2-1 Man U or 1-0
Blackburn-Boro-2-1 Boro is easier to handle
Newcastle-Liverpool-Owen would not have regretted going to St James Park if Roeder can engineer a win.if not,1-1 might be better, but not enough for Rafa's Worriers or Glenn's Underachievers
Fulham-Chelsea-3-0 or 3-1 Chelsea.no chance to play fair

Troyes-Bordeaux-1-0 Bordeaux.not if anything troublesome comes in
Nice-Nancy-2-1 Nice
Le Mans-Nantes-1-0 Le Mans for this week's surprise.or 2-1 Nantes
Metz-Rennes-Rennes should find this easier at 2-0
Toulouse-Lens-2-1 Lens should be nice
Ajaccio-Monaco-2-0 Monaco

Dortmund-Lautern-2-1
Frankfurt-Duisburg-1-1

Leverkusen-Mainz-2-1 or 0-0
Gladbach-Stuttgart-1-0 Stuttgart

Hertha Berlin-Arminia-3-0

Getafe-Deportivo-2-1 Depor or Getafe 1-0.no actually I won't want you to lose money on the second
Villareal-Atletico-2-2 or Atletico 1-0 in a tight match
Sociedad-Barcelona-Sociedad needs to be very lucky.they have they players, but not the luck.well they would be deserted again as Barca will run out 2-1 winners

Racing-Valencia-2-0 Valencia.this must have been easier for Mario to take
Cadiz-Alaves-1-1
Malaga-Zaragoza-2-1 Zaragoza
Real Madrid-Betis-this is it,Real Madrid would take more revenge by winning 2-0.who cares about Real Betis anyway when they're in trouble
Sevilla-Mallorca-3-1 and while the score away while theysee their green rivals get whacked yet again by another European champ
Espanyol-Osasuna-Espanyol is so schizo they should not be recklessly bet on.but since Osasuna can be counted to give 2-1 almost all the time,so put Osasuna on that score
Celta-Athletic-2-1 since Celta are quite strong this time round.they need a bullish showing to go through

Livorno-Juventus-2-1 Juve is easier to take
Treviso-Cagliari-1-0 Cagliari.need we say more?

Udinese-AC Milan-2-0 Milan and go on with the show

Young Boys-Xamax-1-1 or 2-0
Aarau-FC Zurich-FCZ 1-0
St Gallen-Basel-Basel 1-0

Xanthi-Olympiacos-this is more invitation for hoolies.so Olympiacos need a national mandate after wrapping up the title yet again.2-1 Olympiacos ought to do the trick
Anderlecht-Beveren-2-1 Anderlecht is the way to go.and maybe take a look at more Ivory Coast talents they would love to have
Austria Salzburg-Austria Vienna-this is tough,so go for the Vienese in a 1-0 win or 1-1
Beitar Jerusalem-Maccabi Haifa-yeah can't wait for Maccabi v Hapoel?we have something just as inciendary.Maccabi 1-0 and Gaydamak Sr needs a bit more help here, not from his son
Zenit SP-Saturn-1-0 Zenit since they can't rest their players as they do in Russian Cup fixtures.just be careful next time

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/16/2006 09:00:00 PM

to say this...this past 2 days aren't very impressive

Inter Milan 1 Ajax 0-disappointing Adriano fluffs a sure fire penalty but at least it's Stankovic who saved the day with the clincher.anyway miss or not that's a hit at best and a hit at worst

Sevilla 2 Lille 0-to be manic,2-1 refers to the aggregate score Sevilla goes through.Lille was no match for Villareal,so we fear for the French in the UEFA Cup even before Marseille goes into snowy Petersburg. The French dominate in the Heineken Cup but sadly got put out by the rest,so it's now up to Betis to match up to their hated rivals

Roma 2 Boro 1-this time round that was counted as a hit, even if we have to sacrifice Roma in the process.actually with or without that away goal we kinda hit the jackpot long ago

Hamburg 3 Rapid Bucharest 1(Rapid on away goals)-incredibly for Rapid,it's Buga's treat this time round as Hamburg nearly forced extra time before that away goal Bug-ged them for the rest of the time.that's why they can actually cruise through again.looks like the only thing able to stop them is Steaua(provided they don't flop against Betis)

we've got so much unresolved business we're back from an enforced holiday in order to bring you more shit from the front

Inter Milan-Ajax-this is the late champs league game people are wondering what the hell happened while the rest are playing. It seems like Inter are favourites to win this one,and with Adriano back on form, they are well poised for 1 or 2 goals that will send them to Villareal.Ajax can't score for nuts actually,so i won't be surprised if they score a late consolation goal

Roma-Boro-Rome under siege.should we be that correct,2-1 might do for Rome, but not so enough.or 2-0 also can.Ascoli might actually be a useful example
Sevilla-Lille-Sevilla might as well forget it,because Lille are tough to beat, albeit a little easier away.2-1 should work
Hamburg-Rapid Bucharest-Hamburg can't win 2-0.so the next best alternative is Rapid 0-0 since they are so capable of the sort of stuff needed
Schalke-Palermo-back home,it would be auf weidersehen for Palermo, that is,if they don't concede any goals.1-1 might work, but if you prefer Schalke,3-1
Levski Sofia-Udinese-from Palermo to Plovdiv,I would swear that Udinese can't match Levski at all, even if there are apparently any differences in strength.2-1 to Levski or even 2-0 can work.or 1-0
Betis-Steaua-Steaua are notorious for whacking people away.this time, marooned Betis are going to be in the receiving end of a 2-0 loss
Strasbourg-Basel-bring it on,because Basel are going to go through.1-1 is their favoured move, but if Strasbourg is worse than Monaco now,2-0 might actually do justice
Zenit-Marseille-usually French sides are crap in Russia, and if you think this is some legacy passed down from Napoleon,I'd welcome you to put another Zenit 1-0

you want the stuff??bring it on.based on real time report yesterday,we're sure Barca has just 1 obstacle to romping the title

Arsenil/Juve vs Inter Milan/Ajax/Villareal
Lyon/AC Milan vs Benfica/Barcelona

so after all the legal wrangling...we predict who will play in the semis

Juve-Inter and AC Milan-Barcelona

after that,if Inter-AC Milan is played in the heavens, the only final to be played on earth is Juve-Barca.If not then watch the whole Paris burn as the nerazzurri and the rossoneri do some guerilla battle

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/11/2006 09:23:00 PM

Friday, March 10, 2006

I was actually going more crazy,so the DT will cover Irish league as well.sounds crazy ain't it.and with the top 10 selections for this week,we sure are going more and more crazy!!

1:Juventus-Milan-with 2 teams on sizzling form,it's very hard to predict who will win.If that's the case,1-1 would be the most likely result after careful consideration

2:Arsenil-Liverpool-I still hold the hope that Pool would win,and I think 1-0 to Pool might actually help a lot

3:Man U-Newcastle-Shearer can't help Roeder much because Man U will always be Man U even without any Champs League slot.If that's closely fought enough,Man U might actually win 3-2 by a late goal

4:Ajax-PSV-we're so freaking sure that Ajax can't make it in the Eredivisie that we really would recommend you 1-0 or 2-1 to PSV...no surprises.Huntelaar the Hunter might score one,but that's about it as PSV would be on all fire after getting whacked by Lyon

5:France-England-this is 6 nations stuff that has the rare honour of being listed as fixture for the day for a rugby match.sometimes home advantage doesn't work.If the French still play like against when they played against wooden spoons Italy, they might as well lose.if not, then they might actually do well to win by the odd kick out

6:Valencia-Real Madrid-you didn't expect both of them to be out of Europe after so long, but with such affairs being full blooded battles,2-2 or Valencia by a shorthead might do.this is when Perez is still on.But I think Martin wouldn't stop Lopez Caro from benching Ronaldo (again).so they might do well to draw, but win is definitely out of the question except when Barcelona lose(which is never likely)

7:Basel-Grasshoppers-man...Basel on a high does look very dangerous.so the best recommendation is 1-1 or 2-1 Basel

8:Brondby-FC Copenhagen(Danish fight)-If there isn't anything cartoonish,we wouldn't be amused to see Copenhagen losing 1-0

9:Cracovia-Wisla Krakow(Krakow derby)-2-1 for Wisla should work if they really are that powerful in the transfer market

10:Steaua-Arges Pitesti-I admit that I'm obsessed with Steaua Bucharest.having said that,I don't think Arges would be able to come up with a gift for Dinamo,so 2-1 or 3-1 Steaua should be fine

Chelsea-Spurs-should we say anything,Chelsea would resume normal business and win 3-1 or 2-1
Everton-Fulham-2-1
Bolton-West Ham-2-1
Birmingham-West Brom-1-1
Portsmouth-Man C-Man C 2-1
Blackburn-Villa-1-1 or 2-1 Villa
Sunderland-Wigan-Wigan 2-0
Charlton-Boro-2-1 Boro

Bordeaux-Toulouse-1-0 again
Nancy-PSG-0-0?should be 1-0 PSG
Auxerre-Nice-this is nice enough.2-1 Auxerre or 1-1
Rennes-Ajaccio-2-1 or 2-0
Monaco-Sochaux-1-0
Lens-Troyes-2-1
Lyon-Metz-3-0.should be easy

Nantes-Lille-if going to Nantes mean getting 0-0 draws,go for Lille 1-0
Strasbourg-Le Mans-2-1 Le Mans or 2-2
Marseille-St Etienne-1-0

Wolfsburg-Bayern-3-0 Bayern.this is now the receiving end
Mainz-Gladbach-1-1
Stuttgart-Dortmund-2-1 Dortmund or 3-3
Arminia-Leverkusen-1-0 Leverkusen
Cologne-Nuremburg-1-1 or 0-0
Bremen-Hertha Berlin-1-0 Bremen or 1-1
Duisburg-Hanover-0-0 or 3-1 Hanover

Schalke-Frankfurt-2-0
Hamburg-Lautern-2-0 too

Deportivo-Sociedad-1-1 or 2-1
Espanyol-Celta-1-0 Celta

Zaragoza-Getafe-2-2 or 1-0
Atletico-Racing-1-1 or 1-0
Mallorca-Villareal-2-0 Villareal
Betis-Malaga-2-1 or 0-0
Osasuna-Barcelona-Barca 3-1 or 1-1 draw.draw aint likely so don't try unless you're pretty sure
Athletic-Cadiz-1-0.they are soft enough to beat
Alaves-Sevilla-3-1 Sevilla

Inter Milan-Sampdoria-2-1
Siena-Treviso-1-0

Empoli-Chievo-2-1 Chievo or 0-0
Lazio-Reggina-2-1 or 2-2
Palermo-Udinese-1-0 or 1-1
Cagliari-Fiorentina-3-1 Fiorentina.I might think Toni wouldn't score this time round
Ascoli-Roma-2-1 or 1-0 Roma
Parma-Livorno-2-1 or 1-1
Messina-Lecce-0-0 or 1-0

Brighton-Preston-1-0
Coventry-Sheffield Utd-2-1 Sheffield
Crewe-Southampton-2-1 or Saints 3-1
Derby-Burnley-2-0 or Burnley 1-0
Hull-Plymouth-2-1
Ipswich-Millwall-1-1 or 2-1 Ipswich
Leeds-Norwich-1-1 or 0-0
Luton-Leicester-2-1 Leicester
Reading-Watford-2-1
Sheffield Wed-QPR-1-0 QPR
Wolves-Cardiff-2-0

Stoke-Crystal Palace-1-0 Crystal Palace
Preston-Ipswich-1-0 Ipswich

FC Zurich-St Gallen-2-0
Young Boys-Aarau-1-0 or 1-1
Schaffhausen-Xamax-Xamax 1-0
Yverdon-Thun-1-0 Thun or 0-0

St Pats-Waterford-1-1 or 0-0
Derry-UCD-UCD 1-0
Bohemians-Drogheda-2-1?should go for 1-0
Bray-Shelbourne-Shels 1-0
Cork-Dublin-1-0 maybe
Longford-Sligo-2-1 Longford

Hibs-Celtic-so let's go and close this deal.2-1 Celtic closes the championship case
Trabzonspor-Galatasaray-to win this,2-1 will do for Gala and then they can whack Fenerfarce for all they want
PAOK-Panathinaikos-more hoolies,so 2-1 Pana does work once in a while.alternately 1-0
Sporting-Boavista-2-1 Sporting should be nice
Slovan Liberec-Banik Ostrava-1-0 is great for championship chasing Slovan
MTK-Debrecen-1-0 in another crap experiment
Litex Lovech-CSKA Sofia-this is tough.1-0 CSKA works

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/10/2006 08:56:00 AM

we didn't know how crap were our results until we decided, enough is enough

Boro 1 Roma 0-actually that penalty was early enough to signal what's going to happen in the Eternal City,so that was actually counted as a hit.let's hope i'll hit again in the return leg
Lille 1 Sevilla 0-
Rapid Bucharest 2 Hamburg 0-they win like crazy everytime at home.so the next thing is...can we imagine a semi final with an entirely Eastern European flavour?(Zenit,Rapid,Steaua,Levski)
Palermo 1 Schalke 0-half goals and then the full goal by Palermo knocked me out cold
Udinese 0 Levski 0-usually Levski have away day blues during Euro trips, but what happened this time was that Udinese is super off form.this means that Levski would be forced to win, something which they are somewhat capable of
Steaua 0 Betis 0-again screwed.just one thing,Betis might not actually make it back home alive since Steaua would have the away goal advantages.(might win,so look out)
Basel 2 Strasbourg 0-run all over and so the next thing is...can they claim another French scalp(remember they have competition in the form of Levski)
Marseille 0 Zenit 1-that sure was a mistimed tackle

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/10/2006 08:43:00 AM

Thursday, March 09, 2006

we should have reckoned we lost a huge fortune playing in the Champs League

Arsenil 0 Real Madrid 0-WTF
AC Milan 4 Bayern 1-whatever the case Milan is so on form right now.Sheva missed a penalty but he finished off just like the rest, and dear old Bayern are eliminated yet again after the 16
Lyon 4 PSV 0-Tiago double and Juninho yellow card.this time round PSV are out of luck and it showed
Liverpool 0 Benfica 2-we kinda fouled up the predictions, and the champions are deposed.if anyone can depose Man U,what's there to fear about Juve or even Pool for that matter

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/09/2006 09:23:00 AM

Wednesday, March 08, 2006

looks like there are 3 of them decided already.not so impressive hits, though

Barcelona 1 Chelsea 1-finally,there was revenge.but to ruin this occasion,Thiago Motta's alleged slider on Terry kinda gave the Chelski Army the chance to equalise Ronaldinho's super kick.not that we want to say anything, but they kinda need more work to succeed in Europe

Juventus 2 Bremen 1(Juventus on away goals)-this time Juventus had the last laugh, literally.if scoring on 5 minutes is not enough, scoring with 5 minutes to go is more fatal.having said that,we nearly hit that before we goofed it at the last minute

Villareal 1 Rangers 1(Villareal on away goals)-there's at least an underdog this time round.not so much a hit,but good enough actually

Jose Luis Fabiano at 3/08/2006 09:16:00 AM
